The T-Shirt Index

Fabric comparisons, collar durability tests, fit opinions, and price-to-value verdicts.

Reviewer Sizing Baseline

5'8" • 155 lbs • Average build with broad shoulders.

All shirts are machine washed and tumble dry low.

Standard Sizing Reference:S/M (US Brands) • M/L (EU/APAC Brands)

Testing Focus: Most of my tests are 100% cotton shirts. I have tried blended shirts, but much prefer the quality, longevity, and natural softness of pure cotton. I did not include mainstream brands on this list, though I have worn plenty in the past such as Uniqlo, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Lululemon. Those are good for the price and easy to buy, but this journey is specifically about finding the best quality shirts crafted for the classic heritage menswear space.
